Phoenix band Broken Girls From Affluent Backgrounds released their new album, Bitter Orbit, on September 7th. The album comes as a follow-up to their 2018 release, Fiction Will See Us Through.

The album opens with its title track, a quiet, dark song that holds true to its name as it segues into the next track “Phantom Limb.” A hauntingly beautiful, melodic song, “Phantom Limb,” laments the process of letting go.

Other notable songs include “Asynchronous Pulse,” a lighter, hopeful track with a guitar riff that becomes the hook and “Skywriter,” a slow, smoldering composition that allows the listener to drift deeper into the album.

Bitter Orbit also includes “Vacant” the ethereal, dreamy single previously released solo in 2018.

The album ends with the track “As our Breath Escapes Us (Submariner to Astronaut),” further showcasing the band’s talents as it winds down the listener’s journey through this alluring, nebulous, and celestial album.
